The Big Three are 3 comic strips that I discovered shortly after High School when I was just starting to teach myself about comics. They’re all cynical, funny and smart. As an angsty teenager, each one of them really connected with me and they each still hold a valued place in the comic section of my heart.
- Too Much Coffee Man was drawn by Shannon Wheeler. The strip has changed since those days (it’s now titled “How To Be Happy”), but it’s still great. Shannon has a LiveJournal account and also has some comics over at Act-i-vate too.
- Sidewalk Bubblegum was drawn by Clay Butler. I’m not in to politics, but this strip was more about timeless ideas than current politics, so it worked for me. Clay has since moved on to other projects, but the comic’s still online, and great.
- Fried Society was drawn by Casper Kelly (aka Chris Kelly). Sadly, he’s since taken the comic off the internet. One of these days, I might ask him if I can upload all the strips again (I still have them all on my computer). It was (and is) seriously great.
